There is no doubt that rapid heartbeat, trouble breathing, and unconsciousness are symptoms of this illness.

• Food-Borne Illnesses: Uncooked meats can cause food-borne infections in dogs. It does not matter if you are giving your dog raw or cooked prosciutto because of the larvae of a tiny parasite called trichinella, which can cause stomach upset, vomiting, and diarrhea. 
• Pancreatitis: Undoubtedly, the fat level of prosciutto is considerable, as I mentioned above. There is a high chance that your dog’s stomach may irritate or inflame if your furry pooch absorbs a lot of fat. 

Plus, consuming excessive amounts of fat can create pancreatitis which is an inflammation of the pancreas. For this reason, your cat can go through severe abdominal pain, fever, and diarrhea.

• Salt Poisoning: If your dog consumes excess salt, it might cause high blood pressure or kidney damage. Not only that, thirst created by the salt can cause bloat, a potentially fatal sickness in which a dog’s stomach wrenches and makes them uneasy.

Moreover, too much sodium can also generate salt poisoning, which is indicated by drooling, frequent urination, and a sore tummy.
